Encountering connectivity issues can be frustrating, especially when you are unable to access a website you need. If you are seeing the message “This site can’t be reached,” there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
1. Check Your Internet Connection: Start by verifying that your internet connection is active. Check if other websites are loading properly and test your connection on different devices to rule out any device-specific issues.
2. Inspect Cables and Restart Network Devices: Ensure that all cables (Ethernet, coaxial, etc.) are securely plugged in. Reboot your router, modem, or any other network devices you are using. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity problems.
3. Allow Chrome in Firewall or Antivirus Settings: Check your firewall or antivirus settings to ensure that Google Chrome has the necessary permissions to access the internet. If Chrome is already allowed, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
4. Review Proxy Settings: If you use a proxy server, verify that the settings are correct. Contact your network administrator if needed. If you don’t believe you should be using a proxy server, you can disable it in the Chrome settings. Go to the Chrome menu, select “Settings,” then navigate to “Show advanced settings…,” “Change proxy settings…,” and under LAN Settings, deselect “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.
