Resolving Connection Issues
If you are encountering the message “This site can’t be reached” while trying to access a website, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:
- Check your Internet connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the Internet. You can try restarting your router, modem, or other network devices to establish a fresh connection.
- Review firewall and antivirus settings: Sometimes, your firewall or antivirus software may be blocking the website you are trying to access. Verify that your browser, such as Google Chrome, is allowed to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already permitted, you can try removing it from the list and adding it again.
- Proxy server settings: If you use a proxy server, double-check your proxy settings or reach out to your network administrator to ensure that the proxy server is functioning correctly. If you don’t believe you should be using a proxy server, you can disable it by going to the Chrome menu, selecting “Settings,” then “Show advanced settings,” and finally “Change proxy settings.” In the LAN Settings, make sure to deselect the option “Use a proxy server for your LAN.”
By following these troubleshooting steps, you can overcome connection issues and successfully access the desired website.
