Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues
If you are encountering the error message “This site can’t be reached” while trying to access a website, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the connectivity issue.
1. Check your Internet connection
Ensure that your Internet connection is working properly. Check if other websites are loading without any problems. If not, try restarting your router or modem, and check all cables connected to your network devices.
2. Allow Chrome access to the network
Make sure that Google Chrome is allowed to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already listed as an allowed program, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
3. Proxy server settings
If you use a proxy server, verify your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to ensure that the proxy server is functioning correctly. If you don’t believe you should be using a proxy server, you can adjust your settings in Google Chrome. Go to the Chrome menu, navigate to Settings, then select Show advanced settings, and click on Change proxy settings. In the LAN Settings, make sure to deselect “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you can resolve the “This site can’t be reached” error and regain access to the website you are trying to visit.
