Encountering connectivity problems can be frustrating, especially when you are unable to access a particular website. If you are seeing the error message “This site can’t be reached,” there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue and get back online.
1. Check your Internet connection: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet. You can do this by checking if other websites are accessible or by trying to connect to the internet on another device.
2. Verify your cables and devices: Examine all the cables and connections associated with your network setup. Sometimes, a loose cable or faulty connection can disrupt your internet connection. If necessary, reboot your modem, router, or any network devices you are using.
3. Review firewall and antivirus settings: It’s possible that your firewall or antivirus software is blocking the website you are trying to access. Make sure that your web browser, such as Chrome, is allowed to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings. If it is already listed, try removing it and adding it again.
4. Proxy server settings: If you use a proxy server, ensure that your proxy settings are correct. You can do this through the Chrome settings menu. If you don’t think you should be using a proxy server, go to Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings… > Change proxy settings… > LAN Settings, and deselect “Use a proxy server for your LAN.”
